Fun Facts about names day!

Marcella decided to join the game-- although a little late...

Marcella is pronounced Mar- SELL-Uh, just in case you were wondering, it's a pretty difficult name to pronounce. ;) It is of Latin origin, and its meaning is "dedicated to Mars". Mars is the Roman god of fertility, for whom the spring calendar month March was named, came to be identified with the Greek god Ares, god of war. Saint Marcella (fourth century) was a cultivated woman of ability who was killed during the sack of Rome.

There's a guy at church that is convinced her name is "Marsala Chicken"... I'm pretty sure it's not but whatever...

Some of her nicknames are: Marce, Marcie, Marsha, Marcia (pronounced Mar-See- Uh), Marcie-Moo-Cow, Moose, My girl (I've got SUNSHINE! on a cloudy day- when It's cold outsiiiide I've on the month of May! I guess you'd say, What can make me feel this way? My Girl, My Girl, My girl- talkin' 'bout Myyy girl-- my girl.. Oooooo), Wild thing (you make my heart sing...), Little Wild One (from the "That thing you Do" Soundtrack- best EVER!) spazzy, princess, beautiful girl, and perfect girl. (Okay I am a little obsessed with songs... All of my puppies had songs)

Marcella and I are leaving tomorrow for California... I'm not sure if I will will have Internet-- if not-- I will "see" y'all when I get back-- with lots of pictures! I'd better see someone at graduation *ahem!*... I'll eat some Ghirardeli for you!
