Maryjo and Mickelle
(Aww! Seeing her puppyraiser for the first time in 8 months!)

Hi Everyone- Welcome to my Blog! I'm Mickelle and I'm currently raising a puppy as a Guide Dog for the Blind. She is a 11 month old Female Black Labrador named Marcella. She is my 6th puppy to raise and will hopefully make a great Guide and Companion for someone one day. Marcella goes everywhere with me- thus the name of Adventures of Future Guide Dogs. She has been on plenty of adventures with me and will hopefully be on many more as I will have her, most likely, until next Spring then off to a new adventure of Formal Guide Dog training in either San Rafael, CA or Boring, OR (yes that's the name)
The last couple of weeks have been very Guide Dog-y starting with lots of house and puppy sitting for raisers in my club then off to OR for Maryjo, my 5th puppy's graduation (She's now living the good life of a school counselor in TX) the next week was Utah State Fun Day, then California Fun Day... Whew! Marcella and I are glad to be home again for a couple of weeks, although she was very good and got to meet her sisters, Mojave and Mailie.Mojave, Marcella, and Mailie

We both work at the local University we attend in the Computer Lab. Marcella likes to sleep on the job- but that's okay for a Future Guide Dog- they need to learn to be patient and "chill out" while in a setting such as work, school, or church.
Hopefully Marcella will be good at reminding me to update this- she likes to tell her stories to everyone she meets and loves being the center of attention. :)
